MECHANISM OF ACTION
Szeto-Schiller tetrapeptide (D-Arg-Dmt-Lys-Phe-NH2), which selectively targets the inner mitochondrial membrane (IMM) through electrostatic interaction with cardiolipin. It stabilizes the cardiolipin-cytochrome c complex, restores the efficiency of the electron transport chain, reduces mitochondrial ROS production, and preserves the architecture of the mitochondrial cristae.
