2. Personal Data
Personal data refers to information about the factual or personal circumstances of a specific or identifiable natural person. This does not include statistical data that we collect, for example, when you visit our web store and which cannot be directly related to you.
Personal data, such as your name, address, phone number, email address, and other inventory data that you provide to us in the course of your online registration, your order, your newsletter subscription, and your inquiry through our contact form, will be processed by us to the extent necessary to process your registration or order, your newsletter subscription, your use of the application, or to respond to your inquiry.
We collect, store, and process your data associated with the web store for the entire duration of processing your purchase or request, including subsequent warranties, for our services and in accordance with legal retention periods (especially for tax reasons). The sending of newsletters and electronic advertising is carried out until you revoke it.
The purposes of data processing in detail:
3. Web Store
3.1. Online registration in our web store
It is possible to make purchases in our web store, as well as use our product watchlist after online registration.
Your online access is password-protected. Here you can view information about your completed, pending, and recently shipped orders and manage your accumulated loyalty points, personal data, and newsletter subscription.
You agree to treat personal access data confidentially and not to disclose it to unauthorized third parties. We cannot accept any responsibility for the misuse of passwords unless we are responsible for it. Please note that you will remain automatically logged in unless you log out.
3.2. Purchase process
By completing your online order, you expressly authorize us to process the personal data you provide to process your purchase and ship your order. We need your email address to confirm receipt of the order. We also use it for your identification (website login). Additionally, you will receive order and shipping confirmation through your email address. Similarly, we need your email address and phone number to communicate with you in case of order-related inquiries or delivery problems.
3.2.1. Customer survey: We need your opinion
When ordering SelmiSwiss preparations, you will receive an invitation to participate in a voluntary customer survey 4 weeks after purchase, which you can unsubscribe from at any time with future effect. The data obtained is evaluated anonymously and provides us with valuable information to further adapt our products to our customers’ needs and to support our scientific team.
4. Newsletter Subscription/Receipt of Electronic Advertising
By confirming your subscription to the newsletter, you voluntarily agree that the following company SelmiSwiss GmbH processes your data in order to send you electronic newsletters and receive direct emails and personalized advertising about SelmiSwiss products, events, and services. ‘Personalized advertising’ refers to advertising tailored to you and your interests. We use existing information, such as your place of residence, registration date, and the customer group you belong to, to send you only advertisements for products that may truly interest you.
You can only register for the SelmiSwiss newsletter if you expressly consent to it. To send you the newsletter, we use the so-called double opt-in procedure, which means we will not send it to you by email until you have expressly confirmed that you want us to activate the service. We will then send you a notification email and ask you to confirm that you wish to receive our newsletter by clicking on a link included in that email.
Newsletter delivery provider: Mailchimp
For newsletter delivery, we use Mailchimp, a service offered by The Rocket Science Group LLC, 675 Ponce de Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA (hereinafter “Mailchimp”). When you subscribe to our newsletter, the data provided (such as your email address) is transferred to Mailchimp and stored on their servers located in the United States.
Mailchimp acts as a data processor in accordance with Art. 28 of the GDPR and is bound by standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, which ensure an adequate level of data protection in case of transfer to third countries. You can find more information in Mailchimp’s privacy policy: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/.
The data will be used exclusively for sending our newsletters and will not be transmitted to third parties for commercial purposes. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in each email or by contacting us directly.
If you no longer wish to receive our newsletters, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in each email or by contacting us through the information provided in point 1.
5. Inquiry Through the Contact Form
If you send us an inquiry through the contact form, the personal data provided will be processed by SelmiSwiss only.
Since inquiries through contact forms can be of various types, we need you to complete at least the data marked as mandatory.
6. Server Log Data
When you visit our website, your log data is automatically recorded and temporarily stored; however, they do not allow us to draw conclusions about your person. This data includes, for example, the type and version of the browser, the referrer URL, the shortened IP address, the name of the provider, and the operating system used. All log data is evaluated anonymously by us or our service provider solely for statistical purposes, to improve our offer, to facilitate problem-solving, and to prevent attacks on our web store.
7. Cookies
We use cookies in some areas to enable certain functions without which the store could not function: shopping cart, wish list, comparison list, secure payment, among others.
Cookies are small files that are stored locally on your hard drive and store certain settings and data to exchange with our system through your browser.
Most of the cookies we use are session cookies and are deleted from your hard drive after closing the browser. The long-term cookies we use remain on your hard drive for 30 days and are then deleted. When you visit us again, we will automatically recognize that you have been here before and what entries and settings you prefer.
By using our website, you declare that you expressly wish to use our web service and accept the use of these cookies to the extent that your browser allows them. Most browsers are set by default to accept all cookies. However, you have the option to configure your browser so that cookies are displayed before being saved, that only certain cookies are accepted or rejected, or that they are generally rejected or deleted.
Additionally, when you first access our website, you will be shown a banner or cookie manager that allows you to accept, reject, or configure the use of cookies in a granular way before they are activated, in compliance with current regulations. You can change your consent settings at any time through the same cookie management panel accessible at the bottom of the site.
We would like to point out that configuration changes only affect the browser from which they are made. If you use different browsers or change devices, you must reconfigure them. Additionally, you can delete the cookies from your hard drive at any time. For information on setting, modifying, and deleting cookies, please refer to your web browser’s help function.

Technical Cookies and External Services
Given the constant growth of automated access attempts, malicious activities, and abusive use of forms by robots, we have found it necessary to implement additional protection mechanisms that ensure the security of the site and its users.
- Google reCAPTCHA: We use Google reCAPTCHA (v2 and v3) to protect our forms against spam and abusive access. This service may collect information such as your IP address, browsing behavior, and other technical data to verify if you are human. These cookies are considered technical, although they may involve data transfers to Google LLC servers in the USA.
- Google Fonts: Our site uses web fonts provided by Google. When loading the page, your browser establishes a direct connection with Google servers to download the fonts, which may involve the transmission of your IP address. Although no cookies are stored, this exchange is considered relevant from a data protection perspective. In order to further improve the privacy of our users, we are working on a progressive migration towards local hosting of all our typographic fonts.
Both services are necessary for the functioning and security of the website. If you do not agree with the use of these technologies, we recommend that you do not continue browsing our page.
If you wish to change your decision regarding the use of optional cookies, you can do so by clicking on the following button:
Change cookie preferences8. Analysis and advertising tracking tools (Google)
This website uses Google Analytics and Google Ads (Conversion Tracking), services provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”) to analyze website usage and improve our digital marketing campaigns.
Google Analytics uses cookies that allow analysis of user behavior on the site. We use the “anonymizeIP” function, whereby IP addresses are shortened before being stored or processed to exclude any direct personal reference. The full IP address is only transferred to Google servers in the USA in exceptional cases. The data collected is not combined with other Google data.
Data linked to cookies, user identifiers, or advertising identifiers is retained for a maximum of 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted. You can prevent the use of cookies through the corresponding settings in your browser or download the add-on available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Likewise, we use the Google Ads conversion tracking service. By clicking on a Google ad, a tracking cookie is installed on your device. These cookies do not contain personal data and expire after 30 days. They allow us to compile aggregate statistics on the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns.
The legal basis for the use of these tools is Article 6, paragraph 1, letter f of the GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior to optimize our website and advertising campaigns.

9. Facebook Pixel / Remarketing / Retargeting
With your consent, this website uses tracking and remarketing technologies from the social network Facebook, operated by Meta Platforms Inc., 1601 S. California Ave., Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). This includes the so-called conversion pixel, which allows tracking user actions after interacting with Facebook ads, as well as displaying personalized ads based on browsing behavior.
The information collected is anonymous from our perspective, so we cannot identify users individually. However, Facebook may link this data to your user account and use it for its own purposes, as described in its privacy policy. This may allow Facebook and its partners to show you ads on and off the platform.
Facebook may store cookies on your device to facilitate this functionality. These cookies can track your behavior on this and other websites, in order to offer interest-based ads (retargeting).
The use of these technologies is only activated once you have given your explicit consent through the cookie manager when you first access our site. You can revoke this consent at any time by changing your settings in the same cookie panel.
If you wish to directly manage your ad preferences on Facebook, you can do so at: https://www.facebook.com/ads/website_custom_audiences/.
Only users over 16 years old can give consent for the use of this type of services. If you are a minor, please seek authorization from your legal guardian.
10. Data Security
At SelmiSwiss, we place great importance on the security of your personal data. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or improper disclosure, in accordance with Article 32 of the GDPR.
All data transmitted through our website is done via TLS/SSL encrypted connection. This ensures that the information cannot be read or manipulated by third parties during transmission.
We apply the principle of data minimization and restrict access to personal information only to authorized personnel who need it to perform their duties. We regularly review and update our security measures in accordance with the state of the art.
We recommend not sharing your access credentials with third parties and logging out at the end of your visit, especially if you are using a shared device. While we do our utmost to ensure the protection of your data, remember that no Internet transmission is completely risk-free.
