2. Personal Information

Personal data refers to information about the factual or personal circumstances of a specific or identifiable natural person. This does not include the statistical data we collect—for example, when you visit our online store—which cannot be directly linked to you.

Personal data, such as your name, address, phone number, email address, and other inventory data that you provide to us in the course of your online registration, your order, your newsletter subscription, and your inquiry through our contact form, will be processed by us to the extent necessary to process your registration or order, your newsletter subscription, your use of the application, or to respond to your inquiry.

We collect, store, and process your data associated with the online store for the entire duration of the processing of your purchase or request, including any subsequent warranty claims, for the purposes of our services and in accordance with legal retention periods (particularly for tax purposes). 3.1. Online registration in our web store

It is possible to make purchases in our web store, as well as use our product watchlist after online registration.

Your online access is password-protected. Here you can view information about your completed, pending, and recently shipped orders, and manage your earned loyalty points, your personal information, and your newsletter subscription.

You agree to treat your personal login information as confidential and not to disclose it to unauthorized third parties. We cannot accept any liability for the misuse of passwords unless we are responsible for it. Please note that you will remain logged in automatically unless you log out.

3.2. Purchase process

By completing your online order, you expressly authorize us to process the personal data you provide to us in order to process your purchase and ship your order. We need your email address to confirm receipt of your order. We also use it to identify you (when logging in to the website). In addition, you will receive order and shipping confirmations via your email address. Similarly, we need your email address and phone number so that we can contact you in case of questions regarding your order or delivery issues.

3.2.1. Customer survey: We need your opinion

When you place an order for SelmiSwiss products, you will receive an invitation to participate in a voluntary customer survey 4 weeks after your purchase; you may opt out of this survey at any time, effective immediately. The data collected is evaluated anonymously and provides us with valuable information that helps us tailor our products even more closely to our customers’ needs and support our scientific team.

4. Newsletter subscription/receipt of electronic advertising

By confirming your subscription to the newsletter, you voluntarily consent to the following company, SelmiSwiss GmbH, processing your data for the purpose of sending you electronic newsletters and receiving direct emails and personalized advertising about SelmiSwiss products, events, and services. “Personalized advertising” refers to advertising tailored to you and your interests. We use existing information, such as your place of residence, your registration date, and the customer group to which you belong, to send you only advertisements for products that may genuinely interest you.

You can only sign up to receive the SelmiSwiss newsletter if you give your express consent. To send you the newsletter, we use the so-called double opt-in procedure; in other words, we will not send it to you by email until you have expressly confirmed that you want us to activate the service. We will then send you a confirmation email and ask you to confirm that you wish to receive our newsletter by clicking on a link included in that email.

Newsletter provider: Mailchimp

We use Mailchimp, a service provided by The Rocket Science Group LLC, 675 Ponce de Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA (hereinafter “Mailchimp”), to send newsletters. When you subscribe to our newsletter, the information you provide (such as your email address) is transferred to Mailchimp and stored on its servers located in the United States.

Mailchimp acts as a data processor in accordance with Article 28 of the GDPR and is bound by standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, which ensure an adequate level of data protection in the event of transfers to third countries. Your information will be used exclusively to send you our newsletters and will not be shared with third parties for commercial purposes. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link included in each email or by contacting us directly.

5. Inquiries via the contact form

If you send us an inquiry through the contact form, the personal data provided will be processed by SelmiSwiss only.

Since inquiries through contact forms can be of various types, we need you to complete at least the data marked as mandatory.

6. Server Log Data

When you visit our website, your log data is automatically recorded and temporarily stored; however, it does not allow us to draw any conclusions about you personally. This data includes, for example, the browser type and version, the referring URL, the truncated IP address, the provider name, and the operating system used. All log data is evaluated anonymously by us or our service provider solely for statistical purposes, to improve our offerings, to facilitate troubleshooting, and to prevent attacks on our online store.

Website Security – Wordfence
This website uses the Wordfence Security plugin (Defiant Inc., USA) to protect itself against cyberattacks and unauthorized access. Wordfence analyzes traffic and may log IP addresses, login attempts, and suspicious behavior in order to detect and block threats. This data is temporarily stored on the site’s server and is automatically deleted after a reasonable period of time. The processing is based on the controller’s legitimate interest (Art. 6.1 f GDPR) in ensuring the security and integrity of its website. 7. Cookies

We use cookies in some areas to enable certain functions without which the store could not function: shopping cart, wish list, comparison list, secure payment, among others.

8. Advertising Analysis and Tracking Tools (Google)

This website uses Google Analytics and Google Ads (Conversion Tracking), services provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”) to analyze website usage and improve our digital marketing campaigns.

Google Analytics uses cookies to analyze user behavior on the site. We use the “anonymizeIP” function, which truncates IP addresses before they are stored or processed to exclude any direct personal references. The full IP address is transferred to Google’s servers in the U.S. only in exceptional cases. The data collected is not combined with other Google data.

9. Facebook Pixel / Remarketing / Retargeting
